Scorpion King
Look for Olympic medalist and actress Sherri Howard as the Warrior Queen Isis in Universal’s blockbuster, The Scorpion King, the prequel/offshoot of 2001’s hit The Mummy Returns. The film stars The Rock as the Akkadian warrior Mathayus and Michael Clarke Duncan as the bandit chieftain Balthazar. The film also stars Steven Brand as the villainous Memnon, Kelly Hu, Grant Heslov, and Bernard Hill. Scorpion King was directed by Chuck Russell and opens nationwide in theaters today!
Sherri trained rigorously in both sword and spear-fighting for her role as the leader of a fierce band or warrior women that fight alongside Mathayus and Balthazar against the forces of Memnon. Sherri performs all of her own stunts and fighting in the film and became particularly adept using the spear and staff. No stunt doubles were used to perform her often difficult action scenes.
