In addition to her many film and television credits, Sherri Howard is best known as a record-setting champion in the world of track and field.
An Olympic gold and silver medal winner, Howard has received numerous other awards including the prestigious Nurmi Award, various Athlete of the Year awards, and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records with three of her sisters.
While earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University at Los Angeles, Howard won the NCAA 400 meter Championship.
Off the track, she’s often recognized for her role as the Warrior Queen Isis – alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Michael Clarke Duncan – in Universal’s blockbuster, The Scorpion King.
On the small screen, this passionate performer can be seen on shows like The X-Files, Diagnosis: Murder, Martial Law, The Profiler, and Beverly Hills, 90210. In addition, Howard’s skills as an on-camera commentator have been utilized by the PAC 10 Championships, the World University Games, the Special Olympics, the ARCO Jesse Owens Games, and many others.
She’s guest-starred on popular fitness shows like Power 90, Body by Jake, Strength & Fitness Profile, and Beach Clash. Howard’s also been featured in numerous commercials, and has appeared as a model in magazines such as Muscle & Fitness, Life, and Shape.
Her achievements and high-energy, motivational style have also resulted in numerous speaking engagements for major corporations and national programs like the Olympic Experience Gold Medal Speaking Tour and Women of Athletic and Academic Excellence.
Howard continues to maintain her commitment to family, community, and America’s youth. She regularly coaches young people and makes special appearances at youth sports events of all kinds.
